Every factory has a voice in society leadership.
The society office currently confirms a nine-member Board of Management and a three-member Supervisory Committee. Fairtrade Africa's 2022 producer profile historically recorded an eight-member management board, reflecting the structure reported at that time.

What happens after coffee reaches the factory.

Receive
Ripe coffee cherry is delivered to the local washing station for reception.
Weigh & record
The delivery is weighed and recorded against the member's details.
Wet process
Cherry is pulped, fermented, washed, and separated using the fully washed method.
Dry
Clean parchment is carefully dried and protected as moisture reduces.
Prepare for milling
Dried parchment is weighed and prepared for dry milling and marketing.
Before delivery
A simple farmer checklist.
- Check the latest official picking-day or delivery notice.
- Deliver ripe, clean cherry and keep it free from foreign material.
- Carry the member details required for correct recording.
- Confirm the recorded weight and keep the issued delivery record.
- Raise any record concern promptly with the factory clerk or society office.

Quality infrastructure
Drying improvements across the network.
Fairtrade Africa's 2022 profile documents 78 metal drying beds introduced to support the drying process and protect parchment quality. It also records two footbridges and a footpath that improved farmer access to factories during rainy periods.
